Spearfish Recreation Center

A true repurposing of an existing abandoned Wal-Mart building to convert it into a recreation center (first for this city) including an outdoor pool and water park. A portion of the roof was removed and an addition was added to allow for the creation of a gymnasium with two basketball courts (with tennis and volleyball courts overlaid in the same area) and two running track areas. The recreation center also includes weight and exercise machine room, aerobic and dance studio, men's and women's locker rooms, multiple support/concession rooms, meeting conference room, and hourly daycare. The outdoor aquatic area consists of multiple water slides, lap pool, lazy river, and zero-entry pool with water spraying play areas.
