David Street Station

The project involved an events-driven outdoor plaza planned for a location in the heart of the downtown. A support facility and infrastructure provides for year-round events - over 200 per year - and includes three entrance gateway structures, a terraced concert lawn with band shell, a wintertime ice rink, and a summertime splash pad. Pathways allow circulation and places for vendor tents to support farmers markets and for larger event tents. The design expands to the adjacent streets for larger festivals. The design celebrates the merging of three prominent themes - the energy industry, the American West, and the proximity to abundantly beautiful nature.
